Abstract:Ophthalmologists, especially optometrists, are obliged to confront with two contradiction in the frontline when facing patients directly, i.e. myopia prevention responsibility and infection prevention and control. The present article clarified the implementation details of infection control, refractive examination equipment and site disinfection for ophthalmologists. The aims are to further standardize the clinical operation process of ophthalmic refractive examination, to strength the professional knowledge, methods and skills of infection control, and to reduce the risk of infection and avoid cross infection. Based on the experiences of major medical institutions and hospitals, the present guideline provides comprehensive and unified suggestions for ophthalmic refractive examination from the perspective of preventive medicine and ophthalmology.
