| The remodeling of synapses between photoreceptors and bipolar cells after retinal detachment |

Abstract Retinal detachment (RD) is one of the major causes of visual impairment． Recent studies have revealed that disruption of the synaptic connectivity between photoreceptors and bipolar cells may play an important role in the recovery of visual function after retinal reattachment surgery. This article reviewed the structural and functional remodeling of synapses that may explain the mechanisms of visual function impairment after RD.
