Abstract "Wei' s triple nine needling therapy" is the crucial acupuncture prescription in treatment of eye diseases in Yanjing Wei' s academic school of ophthalmology, especially of optic nerve retinal degenerative diseases. Clinical practice shows that has certain curative effects. The author interpreted the origin of "Wei' s triple nine needling therapy", the principle of acupoint selection and the thinking of acupoint combination. The specific needling manipulations at different regions involved in the triple needling procedure were also expounded in detail. It also introduced the results of clinical research in recent years. Based on the theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, "Wei' s triple nine needling therapy" will be inherited and developed.
