Abstract: The visual prognosis of open globe injury (OGI) has always been a topic of great concern. Compared to closed globe injury, OGI is more severe and the visual outcome is worse. Relevant studies have shown that the patients' initial eye condition, associated injuries and the timing of vitrectomy, etc., are all related to the visual prognosis of OGI. This paper reviews progress in the study of factors affecting the visual prognosis of OGI and provides a theoretical basis for the evaluation of the condition of OGI and the selection of appropriate treatment.
