Abstract: Corneal refractive surgery, one of the most important treatments for refractive error, has been confirmed by numerous studies for its high safety, efficacy and stability. However, in the clinic, there were a few patients who were complaining about symptoms of visual fatigue, such as blurred near vision and eye strain for near work. These symptoms usually last for a short time and have a relatively low incidence rate but still have an effect on patient satisfaction after refractive surgery. Furthermore, the underlying mechanism for visual fatigue is complicated and variable. This review summarizes the research status, potential reasons and appropriate therapy for visual fatigue after refractive surgery.
