Abstract: Phacoemulsification is the most effective way to treat cataract-induced vision loss, which can safely and efficiently help patients regain their sight. Patients are now expecting higher visual quality and fewer postoperative complications after cataract surgery. And dry eye disease is one of the most concerning complications. In this paper, the factors can lead to dry eye after cataract surgery and together with the existing treatment and current prevention methods during the perioperative period are discussed. The objective is to further deepen the understanding of clinicians on the importance of prevention and treatment of postoperative dry eye.
