It has been increasingly recognized that quality of life (QOL) evaluation is an important aspect of strabismus management. The impact that strabismus had on QOL in children and adults varied and included psychosocial and visual function aspects. Some questionnaires specific to strabismus have been evaluated and used in the clinic. QOL was shown to improve due to corrective surgery in strabismus patients, and the questionnaire scores were related to the outcome of the surgery. Studies suggested that QOL evaluation should be used as a criteria for judging the outcome of strabismus surgery. More attention should be paid to the impact of strabismus on QOL in the clinic to improve the outcome of the surgery and patient satisfaction.
