Objective To evaluate the changes in the eyes of Rag-1 knockout mice. Methods Two groups of mice (10 in each group), a Rag-1 knockout group and a wild-type group, were used to investigate the differences in eyes by comparing and analyzing gene identification, refraction, elec-troretinogram (ERG), and ocular pathology. Results There were no differences between gene knockout mice and wild-type mice when the anterior of eyes, refraction and ocular pathology were analyzed. The ERG showed a significant difference in the a-wave and b-wave, which demonstrates the function of the retina. Conclusion Rag-1 knockout mice are ideal animal models for immune function research.
